Kidds carrying land attack missiles?

Kidd can be fitted with Tomohawks, but Americans disable it. It's very likely it will be fited with HF-2E in the near future. It is a Taiwanese version of Tomohawk.

That's really cute... I was actually stationed on that ship in Norfolk back in the early 90's.No Tomahawks... Harpoons, though cool, are pretty much useless these days.Kidd was (and probably still is) and antisubmarine ship too. There's a torpedo room on either side.

Your wrong, Although the Kidd Did NOT carry Tamahawks., The Spruance class destroyers did. And also the Ticondoroga class cruisers.I served aboard the kidd from 1994 to 1998.

back in the 80's i was stationed at 32st navalbase and saw the Taiwan navy pull in and I was very impressed you couldn't walk 10ft on the deck of any Taiwan ship without running into a weapons system. If the Chinese decide to attack Taiwan they will sink so many chinese ships that you will be able to walk from china to Taiwan

tdma800, neither would win, Harpoon missiles on a few squadron of F-18s would always win hands down! Of course, Taiwan put Harpoon missiles on our F-16s, but I wonder if they work as well as the F-18s! Maybe, they can put Harpoon missiles on AH-1Ws as well!!

RedFoxAce, Tomahawk missiles are only for AEGIS destroyers! Tomahawk missiles are make to fly low from sea to shore and then further in-land and blow up some fixed land targets into SHIT!!

I'm not entirely sure. Right now, of course, the Kidds carry 8 RGM-84 Harpoons. But Taiwan had planned to fit them with HF-3s, (a dozen per ship supposedly,) and I'm not sure about those plans being carried out yet. I do know that the Perrys have HF-3s now.As for Tomahawk, the anti-ship version was long ago retired, 1980s I think.... |
