It's a sad day for the family, friends, and fans of Shell Kepler. 1959-2008. We will miss our Angel! There were so many clips of Shell...that I couldn't possibly fit them in just one song. I'm working on something special which should be out in a week or so. Song is"How To Save A Life" by The FrayPLEASE LEAVE COMMENTS.GH finally remembers nurse Amy Vining!Beloved GH Star Dies-ABCGeneral Hospital fans are mourning the loss of Shell Kepler, who portrayed Nurse Amy Vining for over 20 years. She passed away on February 1 in Portland, Oregon, at the Oregon Science & Health University hospital. Kepler was only 47 years old.Nurse Amy was the adopted sister of Laura Webber Spencer (Genie Francis), as well as an aunt to Nikolas, Lucky and Lulu. Amy followed her sister to Port Charles and became a candystriper at General Hospital. She later graduated to full-fledged nurse and became a fixture at the sixth floor nurses station. Since she was known as the town gossip, no secret ever stayed safe with Amy for too long!Longtime viewers will recall that although Amy flirted with many of Port Charles' eligible men, her longest relationship was with boxer Johnny Morrissey.Kepler began her acting career at age nine, in a Chattanooga, Tennessee production of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. After moving to Los Angeles, she worked as a reporter before landing her GH role. She guest starred on shows like Three's Company and CHiPS and co-starred with Joan Collins in the film Homework. FYI, Kepler made frequent guest appearances as Amy on GH's sister soap, Port Charles. In the early '80s, she released a five-track record with her band, Shell and the Crush. Later in life, Kepler was a successful businesswoman. Her clothing line, "Lacy Afternoon," was popular through her appearances on the Home Shopping Network. She also shared her tips on design in the book Make Fashion Magic."I was shocked to hear of the recent and untimely passing of Shell Kepler," said Jill Farren Phelps, GH's Executive Producer. "She was a wonderful person and my thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficult time."Kepler's longtime co-star, Jackie Zeman (Bobbie), said "In addition to her acting and designing talents, Shell loved to decorate her home. It was beautiful and warm...like Shell. She loved to cook and entertain. No one ever left Shell's house hungry. She also liked to custom make gifts for her family and friends. She had a big generous loving heart and she was a special friend to me and my daughters Cassidy and Lacey. We miss her presence in our lives and we treasure the memories of our good times together."

You know it sucks that they never, NEVER recognized her presence of her death. I thought she at LEAST deserved that!!!!!!!

I was watching old GH videos yesterday and guess I never realized back then how often Amy was always sent out of the room by other cast members.

5 months ago, Shell passed away in my arms. Sandy, I still never get tired of watching your videos. Thank you so much for giving me such a wonderful mix of photos and videos. This first video helped me pass the time in our suddenly empty house.Tomorrow I will be giving out a rose in her honor, just because that is what she liked to do. I hope that her fans will do something nice for someone in her honor too.Do it for Shell,With all my love,Andrew

it was such a diapointment that the daytime emmys of 08 didn't do a tribute to the soap actors who died this year(2008) like shell kepler(amy gh) or beverly mckinsey and others. i know that beverly's son was a director at general hospital and i am not sure if he still is. that was a huge slap in the face

I am so sad to hear about her passing. I met Shell when she appeared on the Home Shopping Network. I chauffered her with my Limo service for about 3 years when Her and Robert came to Florida. She was a very nice person. She had a heart of gold. It was not her time to go. Rest in Peace Angel. Joe

Actually it is 48, because her birthday 11/5/1959 has not happened yet.
