Yes, so you would still need some airflow around it. But it would be easier to cool the oil off with air than the hardware, because the shape of the oil can be easily manipulated to cool off easily. Like a liquid heatsink.

Wouldn't there be a downside? Wouldn't the oil quickly become heat- saturated? Would there be some smell as it got hot? And what about disc drives and such?

Is it ok to keep the fans in? I know you want to move the oil about but wont the motors burn out? and approx. what was there rpm in the oil? I must admit im thinking of giving it a go for a laugh...
