the reason for classifying voices is to match them with music that is within their comfort zone, which they can sing with healthy vocal production, and at the same time, which they can be able to bring out the full emotion of the piece. with that in mind, I think it is possible to be both a mezzo and a soprano if one can sing music for both types with great proficiency and ease.

Yo adoro a Callas. Pero pienso que si bién a su voz le sobraban matices y carácter. Su timbre no era tan rico como el de...Por ejemplo: Leontyne Price o Victoria de los Angeles. Pero en cuanto a versatilidad, entrega, arte y dramatismo; Callas notenía rival...Bueno es mi humilde opinión...Ah te envío un saludo a ti también!

Well I think she is a mezzo and it is the timber that matters not the range.

Ewa is a full contralto, no mezzo has a chest voice like that! she just also happens to have great high notes as well.

Entre G3-C5 creo que se podria llamar contralto. Si, la soprano sfogato, como Giuditta Pasta, Maria Malibran, Isabella Colbran and Pauline Viardot. |
