No whats funny is the fact he said the GTR was slowest and had the least amount of power took time to learn how to drive YET IT TOOK FIRST..The nissan would be last on my list....

DTMAMG, i agree with you on GTR having too much technology. but think about it for a second. GTR is only $70,000, whereas GT2 is almost $200,000 and Viper ACR is $100,000, and z06 is $77,000. For the money and the performance it delivers, i think GTR is an amazing deal and I would happily buy it over any other car in this category.Doitlive08, you're totally right about ACR being put in a wrong category. I think ACR should be compared with 911 gt3rs, CLK63 amg Black Series, F430 Scuderia, etc

Thanx C&D for making the car which is the slowest one in the bunch, ugliest, heaviest, and only generated 0.96 g around the corners, the winner of this comparo. Ohh yea, did i mention the least powerful one as well. I think most true enthusiasts would prefer a car which lets the "driver" do the driving, not the computers. But i guess for you guys the winner would be the car that generates the most amount of "ATTENTION". May be you guys should consider a new name, CARandSISSY or CARandCOMPUTER

My point is that the others are not as serious. The GTR is still considered grand touring. It has four (functional) seats, its interior isn't as basic as the Viper's. The ACR's interior has been described as being "earplug noisy" and very hot. The GTR is a base model supercar. I know it's not a luxury car either, but it isn't the race version either. It's a Grand Touring Racer, which are sportier than "sport-luxury" cars. The ACR is one of those cars that are almost pure performance vehicles.

Of course it is a serious performance car. But it is a street-legal serious performance car. So are the others in this comparison.

I don't know which Hyundais you're talking about, but I'm pretty sure that the cars don't produce 1,000lb of down force at 150mph with whatever it is they have.It seems like you're arguing that the ACR isn't a serious track car, which is odd. American Club Racer. Racer is the key word.

Because of an air dam that may be too low? Please. There are Hyundais running around with illegally low air dams. Are they really serious supercars?
doitlive08 (October 6, 2008 at 11:30 pm)
If it's illegal even in some states, then it's safe to say that it's a really serious supercar, much more than the GTR, ZR1, and others. |
