OMG! Shut up! The song is about peace and you are discussing politics and hate! Respect the music instead!

You are right, man1491981. The area was populated before the Zionist "settlement." It was populated by Hebrews. And then conquered by Assyrians, Greeks, Romans, Turks, the British. Nothing wrong with the Hebrews taking back what is rightfully theirs. The Jews are "the" indigenous population. And let us remind ourselves that Arabs in Israel enjoy more rights than Arabs in ANY Arab state. So kudos to Israel for being a symbol of democracy.

I will agree with you that Israel does have many good points. It ensures that all its citizens have the benefits of one of the most comprehensive social welfare systems in perhaps the world. It is also a safe haven for Jews around the world. There is the issue of its treatment of the indigenous Arab inhabitants, who group themselves as Palestinians. True, there was never a historical 'state' of Palestine, but that does not change the fact that the area was populated before Zionist settlement.
