educators are dictated by NATIONAL standards.Your politicians determine what curriculum MUST be taught. People don't become teachers to squelch dreams you idiot! We all have ability.The shame is that we are not taught to value our unique aptitudes. The point that he made about schools turning everyone into university profs is TRUE. We need so many other talents in this world. If we had more problem solvers and innovators in this world, we would have much better choices for world leaders. I hope you that you are able to take your experience and help someone who is in the same position you once were, see their potential.Good luck to you.

His message is about the way we teach. We all learn differently. In a society that has rapidly changing technology, what we "value" in education needs to change as well. His point is that our world needs problem solvers, innovators and people who have the ability to "think outside the box". We are so busy teaching to standardized tests and worrying about "no child left behind"that our children only know to memorize facts and the right answers. NOBODY IS TAUGHT TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE OR THINK.
