This show is yet another reason that I'm convinced TV was better in the 50's. Could you image a well-known artist appearing on "The Price is Right" or "Deal or No Deal"?

This video is an excellent example of the comparision that Schopenhauer made of the genius and the intelligent "practical" man. The gentleman on the right represents the "practical" man. His mind is more in tune with particulars and has better judgement concerning them. So he acts as judge and mediator.

The reason why Dali says yes to questions that do not pertain to him in the particular is because the mind of genius is fixated on the universal and has a tendency to always see the particular as a metaphor for the universal. He was bound to cause trouble on this game show! Very entertaining though! LOL!
