I agree and Ian Paice was one of the most (if not the most) underrated drummers of his time.The best of that era and still are are as followed-Bonham,Paice,Baker,Moonie,(shame Moonie did'nt do a drum solo album),Don Brewer from Grand Funk Railroad,and Peart from Rush-that guy set the mark for drummers and the rest of the pack.

Then you probably think that Purple is Gillan, thus happy with the current version of Purple, without Blackmore. On this i dissent from you 100%. Purple is Blackmore. True, on the other hand, Coverdale not being in the same league. After all, Blackmore needed two singers to substitute Gillan! Still, purple without Gillan is more Purple than Purple without Blackmore.
