why is the fith element the greates movie ever concieved. Seriously the movie is so great. The soundtrack is awesome and erric serra added a super zest to the movie at the end.

On another related note, I've got the making of extra as part of the DVD set, and someone involved in the creation of the diva dance mentioned that they did alter her pitch - as no human can hit all the notes she did. I beg to differ, but it answers the question that they did alter her range in some way, most likely the lower registers.

The lowest note she sings is an Aflat 2, she's not going to hit that with her normal voice. Then the three notes starting at around 58 seconds are not that fast, but are obviously manipulated in some way, they don't sound natural - this is also true of the part from 1:14-1:18, that isn't very fast either, but isn't naturally sung. I believe that a good coloratura could sing all of that and at that speed if they practised the specific runs enough. Just not hit the Aflat2 at 1:10.

Actually, her voice was unaltered... sort of. This is going to take some explanation, so bear with me. No human could sing this song at this speed, because the human voice can't change notes that fast. The singer instead sang each note in isolation... that is, she sang it one note at a time... and each note was recorded and digitally reassembled into the song you hear. But she did sing -every- note. At least, that's what I've been led to understand.

She could probably come pretty close, there is obvious manipulation (lowering) of the lowest notes and some manipulation of some of the other notes, but the high notes are within reach for good coloratura soprano. So in answer, yes she probably could sing the entire thing, if slightly differently.
