Amazing! who is this? Great shape of music, which is harder on etudes cuz they're so technically demanding. I really like this performance!

While the people going "mm:ss miss" are pompous and arrogant for pointing out mistakes that are extremely subtle, give them credit for having some damn good ears, as these kinds of mistakes are DAMN hard to catch, even if you learned the piece yourself.

A lot of great ideas, and exceptional techique, but not entirely convincing.

I think when you get to a level as high as they do, rare misses aren't as big of a deal

Oh I didnt know that. I heard it wasent even in the competition.

Because his other pieces were not half as good as this (The First Ballade, the waltzes, and a scherzo)
jonnyboy126 (August 4, 2008 at 9:29 pm)
Did he play them all at half speed? they only take one hour to perform up to speed
jonnyboy126 (August 4, 2008 at 9:18 pm)
wrong- it is just not listed in the "etude" category of the required repertoire, it is in the "lyrical piece" category, along with the harder nocturnes. Excepting Op. 48 No. 1 in c minor, the E Major etude is harder than the nocturnes

Yes indeed! It's one of the best versions of it.
