Its an empty insult. All comedians are iconoclast so they don't mind attacking ppl plus themselves. The difference between most comedian to Jon Stewart is that he knows how to attack and at the same time ease the tension of the conversation back to happy go-getter. If Jon Steward decides to attack seriously because he finds it offensive, he will, ala Crossfire, Howard Dead, and Chris Matthew to name a few. Adam Sandler is also a comedian so he knows where Jon is coming from.
