SINGAPORE AIRLINES WINS ONCE AGAIN AS "THE AIRLINE OF THE YEAR FOR 2008". "For the 3rd time in 10 years, Singapore Airlines has been named World's Best Airline, winning the 2008 Airline of the Year title in the latest World Airline Awards" said Edward Plaisted (CEO of Skytrax). "We extend our congratulations to them for this notable achievement, coinciding with the time that Singapore Airlines was the world's first airline to fly the Airbus A380."

Some consider the upright position to be uncomfortable but if you put it into bed mode its amazing to relax in.

True in the upright position it can be a bit uncomfortable due to the width. However the bed mode is by far in the lead of any other airline. People actually got between 6-8 hours of sleep in the bed, so it is the best. So its rather a bitter sweet thing.

The A380 kicked the 747 off her STOOL? Don't you mean throne? Haha :D

Why are the aisles so narrow? The visitors look like they have to walk sideways. So much so for being the largest commercial aircraft.....

I always preferred Airbuses. Surely Boeing, especially 747 made a giant breakthrough in transcontinental travel. However Airbus is more innovative in terms of introducing new technologies to aircrafts, making them safer, more efficient, and comfortable. Remember that A380 is 50% more quiet inside than 747, and the pressure inside is higher making passengers feel better.. it's a fair successor to 747.

Very true, I'm glad to hear another person who doesn't curse others out, etc. but anyways, agreed! Although it is sad to think that we aren't in it for the joy of flying -.- I understand that... still sad... *.*"

well my friend this is the way we as a society is seeing air travel, planes are basically luxury liners in the skies. Airlines cant stand still they have to move forward with innovations and ideas. And if offering luxury close to that of a cruise ship will bring in revenue for the airline, why stop it? As a society we grow and adapt, we cant stand still and ALWAYS rely on the old jumbo 747. 10-20 years from now, the new generations will just see the 747 as a thing of the past.
