yes Mick is playing this song on an altered tuning which means that his guitar is not tuned to concert pitch as is the most common guitar tuning...the chords he is playing are D minor 6. and G major. which I find is easier to play in normal tuning the other chords in this song that he is not playing are D minor 7. and to G major again.

i saw the show on ABC2 as well and it completely changed my attitude on Mick Hucknall. Check out his rendition of For Your Babies from the same episode. Just great.
