Champ Car have a higher top end speed. Formula 1 has the quicker acceleration and cornering. I would love to see a late 97 or early 98 Champ car up against a current F1 car. That would be interesting!!

No the record, which is a world record is Gil Deferran at California Speedway which was an average lap speed of 242MPH, or 387 KMH, that is an average over the whole lap.

they did a test in a modified honda f1 and got it up to 250mph on a runway, it did have a non standard aero package on it with no wings etc. but they crack 220 at monza.

round an oval the champ car would be much faster than an f1.A champ car creates much less drag due to its simpler aero package.Round a track like hungary or laguna seca an f1 car would own a champ car.F1's are More advanced cars Champ cars are at least a decade behind f1 technology.

I think they can do a 220 mph on a track like Monza, I'm not exactly sure though...
