Students from Missouri University of Science and Technology attempt to break the collegiate land speed record in a human powered vehicle... a bicycle of sorts. The event, the World Human Powered Speed Challenge, takes place every year at Battle Mountain, Nevada. Come to Battle Mountain to watch the race and back to campus as the students design, build, and test the bike.

wow that's pretty fast. would be quite an adrenaline rush. the fastest i've gone on my schwinn varsity on a flat road is 30.1 mph. and that felt fast for a bike. i can't imagine going 60 :)

why not put some retractable wheels with struts so you don't crash and people don't have to catch you, when you are ready to stop drop the struts out

I, Tom shipley, did the Fast Bike video for Missouri University of Science and Technology as part of my coverage of our student design teams. Check out some of my other videos on our formula car, solar car, as well as our trips to the Amazon and Andes with Engineers Without Borders.
