Thats... way off. This song is about July 4th, 1776.The album itself has got songs that have nothing to do with the U.S. at all.

What an awesome song, truly great. And it is about the american reveloution, it even says on the iced earth website on the description of the glorius burden CD " In between, there is the American Revolution ("Declaration Day", "Valley Forge"), "

As if this song wasn't awesome enough already, the video has freakin' stop-motion animation in it of the band's mascot. Freaking EPIC.

Your synopsis of this song is misguided at the very best. It has nothing to do with America being tyrannical or anything like that. It's about how, despite the overbearing odds against them, the colonists still would fight for independence no matter what the cost. Believe it or not, not every musician hates America

whoever says this video has to do with "9/11" is foolish... jon shaffer wrote the album to portray how ashamed our founding fathers would be to see America starting pointless wars around the world, and in effect becoming the same tyrants that the founding fathers fought against. I happen to agree. The video portrays a tyrant persuading the gullible public off to war. Sound familiar? |
