They want but they re in the fear trap. When they think about quitting: Fear. When they think about continueing: Fear. What needs an addicted person when he/she is afraid: The drug / the junk food he/she is addicted to. So if u are afraid of never doing the drug/junkfood, the desire to consume increase. And when the desire increase, the fear of loosing sth increases too. Viscous circle. The only way to get out is to reverse the fear of staying clean forever. In fact it has to be the opposite!!!

great stuff!it took me a while to realize (and i'm still learning) how to communicate to people that appeared that they don't get it. i've learned that it's crucial to show the person that the knowledge you want to transmit will take them to a better place - not that your words will turn their food/govt/tv to poison, but that you can lead them to nectar and they don't need to worry about discipline (yet) and just fill themselves with greater and greater purity and love

I'm not sure what spiritual philosophy matches up with this idea (sorry, a bit ignorant in spiritual education).

I'm really not a fan of "motivational" sounding stuff. But David Wolfe as you say is full of common sense.I'm not into "the message" etc and really enjoy his comment on "you are what you eat" to be the basis or starting point for all that kinda stuff. Focusing on the physical through nutrtion seems to become spiritual.
