Live Aid was a multi-venue rock music concert held on 13 July 1985. The event was organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure in order to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia. It was one of the largest-scale satellite link-ups and television broadcasts of all time: an estimated 1.5 billion viewers, across 100 countries, watched the live broadcast.The set list for Eric:Eric Clapton(with Phil Collins)- "White Room", "She's Waiting", "Layla" (JFK 00:39); Phil Collins again (having taken Concorde from UK to USA) - "Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)", "In the Air Tonight" (JFK 01:04);

cuz when he was with genesis he couldn't always sing and play drums at the same time so Chester Thompson played 2 and sometimes the drum beats were so intense they needed two drummers for the solos

Read Claptons' autobiography. It says why they were looking so serious! He says it was roasting hot, the monitors weren't great and that he got a great big electric shock during the first line of their first song from the mic. Donald 'Duck' Dunn said to Eric that he had almost passed out from the heat and Eric said the same thing!

This was one of the best acts at live aid, along with U2 and Queen. He is and always will be an amazing guitarist - even if his newer stuff doesn't come up to scratch with his older music!

I think the unplugged version is best.
