I believe there was some trash talking at the end of this match. Edberg poked fun at Becker when Becker couldn't get the champagne bottle to open. Becker told Edberg to be careful or he would have to beat him every week. When Edberg asked him "are you sure about that?", Becker simply replied "Yes".

I think that Edberg did play smartly against Becker at Wimbledon by chipping the return back and making Becker hit many uncomfortable, low volleys (Edberg was clearly a better volleyer). And Becker was always trying to take big swings at the ball when returning Edberg's high kicking serve, which made him an ineffective returner against Edberg. All that said, it is remarkable that Becker had a 25-10 record against Edberg, but lost most of their really important matches.

lol i have no clue why becker had so much trouble with edberg. he should have bee made to order for him at wimbledon.after that first loss, it was just mental.
