It can get to the corners because on the side there is actually a brush that kicks out to bring dirt into the center beater bar.

if theres crap tight in the corner it doesnt seem to be good at getting it out, but like spider webs and stuff it gets easily. ive mine since christmas, havent had to actually vaccuum anything since then.

Good device for house-floor cleaning. I will agree with jakepwnzz that it should be made in a square or rectangle shape for better angle cleaning.
