I have a 16 oz feeder. I fill a calibrated mixingcup up to 5 oz of sugar and then fill to the 16 oz line with water. Stir. microwave a minute. Set to cool ( very important, don't scorch the hummingbird tongues)

Great video, but why was the liquid in his feeders so bright yellow? Vitamins? Doesn't seem like they'd need enough vitamins to color the liquid *that* much. Flower nectar is always clear. And why did he remove the perches from most of his feeders? I always try to give mine a chance to rest while they're eating whenever possible.

David Attenborough has always been my hero, but the guy feeding these birds - even though its quite a noble thing to do - may be unbalancing the relationship between these birds and the flowers they feed on. Humming birds help pollunate plants by spreading pollen between each one as they feed! Whats going to happen to the plant life in this area I wonder? And then what would happen to the birds if this guy croaks it!
