Even as an Obama supporter, I would like to see more compromise on this. It seems unreasonable to expect that in ten years, we would not benefit greatly from being able to rely on our own oil resource, while at the same time ensuring we invest in renewable, domestic sources of energy (like natural gas and wind). I think he would garner so many more votes if he would expand in this direction.

Obama's energy policy will protect us from the tourist trade, the efficiency of the trucking industry, from reasonable food prices and also protect us FROM our individual property rights. Furthermore, it will protect us from the evils of LOW taxation, LOW fuel prices and the evil FREE ENTERPRISE SYSTEM! He wants to control every aspect of your life. He is absolutely right. I can't believe I had missed this response. I've been wanting him to really hit back with the facts, and it turns out he already did, the media just didn't report it! Great job Obama, the truth is on our side, just scream it from the rooftops!

in my opinion, drilling in US wouldnt help much. they would probably just add it to our strategic reserve. by the time we are ready to use our own oil, our country will be destroyed. this is more than just a transportation crisis. we need new ways to make all petroleum products, without oil.

Solve the "affordable energy" problems of our country? Just "Get a tune up" "check your tires".....
