quench disorder = bandgap ? .... the terms are all over the spectrum.

I am mechanical engg trying to understand the quantum computing. My understanding is that adiabatic process is a near instantaneous process while annealing is a slower process. But here these terms are used otherwise. Can anybody clarify my predicamentThank u

You can study it at university if you love phyisics and computers. The good thing about it is that quantum is very hand in hand with information theory. Quantum computers are the computers that can drive your car or fly a planeyou hear about nvidia having quantum effects in their new processors but its all crap because a classical computer cant simulate the effects efficently so they arent really processing the information they are just simulating similar effects.

oOo unknown territory.... How does one go about getting into quantum mechanics in the field of creating quantum computers anyways?

Very well described, and great diagrams.

This talk is very useful for anyone interested in learning how image recognition works and how it can now be accomplished using a practical quantum computer that employs a particular class of quantum computation called Adiabatic Quantum Computing. The talk is fairly technically challenging because it simultaneously covers aspects of image recognition, physics, mathematics and quantum theory - but, it is well worth watching even if you don't have a background in any of these fields.
