The song should really be Stormy Monday ("Call It Stormy Monday") without the Blues in the title. About three years before T-Bone wrote this there was a No1 song called Stormy Monday Blues, written I think by Billy Eckstine. But who remembers that when you have Aaron Thibeaux Walker playing the way he does. Pure Class !!!

A lot of blues artists did it, and The Allman Brothers Band (assuming thats where ya heard Bobby Bland? just a guess). Elmore James did it and a few others I can't think of right now. Great song.

lets just hope that a few of the blues lovers out there pick up guitars, like me :), mabey some day we will even have another generations to follow the end of its last, which ended with SRV

T Bone Walker is the real deal when it comes to Blues Guitar,B.B.King & Chuck Berry consider him a major influence on their guitar styles, every Blues guitarist owes their acknowlege to T Bone Walker because He wrote the book & laid down the Law when it comes to Blues guitar.

thanks for sharing this. Ole T-Bone, one of the great masters. They don't make em like this anymore fellows..The whole original blues generation is almost gone- and can't be replaced. The younger guys rely too much on flash and gimmics rather than good phasing and showmanship.

Bobby Bland did it too, i dont know who wrote it but it's a damn good song and i play it all the time. |
