Today's guest: Aira (アイラ)(Edit: her name is actually Hiromi - Aira was just a nickname she was using at this time. I didn't realize this at the time ... )Hiromi was born in Japan. I think she is an excellent communicator and made some really interesting points in the interview. English is not her native language, so she makes some grammatical mistakes. If you are using this video to study and are unsure if something is correct or not, please ask. Or you could check with your teacher - it could be a good learning opportunity. Hiromi did WWOOFing in Canada for a year. WWOOF is a volunteer organization. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W... finishing at FM Niseko, Hiromi has been working on this site (with others): http://ameblo.jp/mikanbakos(Ja... only)The questionanswer section is sped up today so please use the pause button. Thank you.I'm really sorry about the awful noise in the background too. :( I hope that one day politicians start thinking about how much trouble they are causing and that this kind of campaigning becomes illegal.English script: http://thedailyenglishshow.blo... http://plaza.rakuten.co.jp/dai... i'd never be able to tell that she was raised bilingually from listening to her speaking in english. it's actually not that good at all considering her circumstances. but great video! :D

I always enjoy hearing stories about other people who are bicultural. It's like having one foot in one culture, and the other foot in the other culture... and sometimes there are more than two cultures to contend with. It presents its own set of advantages and disadvantages that I don't think anyone else could understand but another bi/multicultural person.
