Well, Armstrong was great in his own right, but he could not match Artie Shaw's clarinet solo or arrangement on this.

I certainly agree with everybody on this beautiful song! I've not heard this song played instrumentaly but, I heard it vocaly by Nat King Cole and other and this is truly a favorite to be treasured forever. It is a shame that we don't have lovely music like this on the radio any more. Thanks again. :)

Probably my favourite clarinet solo ever. The high notes he hits are near impossible to play like this.

The swing era was exceptional, how lucky were those that lived through it. I wish today's uncouth gangsta rappers and thrash metal heads would go away and die horribly somewhere.
