great,i remember when i was a kid,this was one of the first instrumentals i wanted to learn on my cheap acoustic guitar, i pulled out my strat tonight,wound up the reverb on my amp and surfed all night,i love american surf bands,they wipe out the shadows in england,sorry hank!.

So who besides me was going to grade school at the time in a classroom where the teacher got annoyed with someone trying to do the drum part on the top of their desk? That's one of the things I think of when I hear this song.

the drummer was 18 years old when he wrote this ,(he was the oldest member of the group) he was given a choice "come up with something for the B side of the record or you have to record what we pick" he wrote this in less then an hour, the rest is history
