Nobody will ever be better at doing what Zeppelin did than Zeppelin--and that's meant as a great compliment! I love playing and hearing covers of their songs, but nothing quite matches what those four musicians created together at their best. Thanks for posting this clip!

as far as i know plant had a dog (a blue eyed merle, as mentioned in the song) named strider and yes he did name it after the character from the lord of the rings series

he probably is... page's dog was named strider, and i think they wrote a song about him when he died. i may be wrong.

Does anyone know if Plant is yelling out the name "Strider" from the Lord of The Rings Trilogy? I know some of thier songs reference the books but I didnt know that this was one of them- Anyone know?

love the way they changed this song. Doesnt even sound like a scotish folk singer on a banjo. but then again, zep were the masters of taking a song and making it their own!! keep rocking blue eyed merle!!

Yeah you would think this song was about a girl but really i think its about his dog!! It would make sense. And at the end he yells Strider which is his dogs name.
