And what was the scoring system in that format?
allenjeremy (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
Before 1986 the Observation round saw the contestants watch a film clip then they answered questions about the clip which was followed by the identity parade where the contestants had to spot the character from the clip from one of nine people.

It's a shame, because Carol Barnes died this morning after complications from a stroke. I'm back in England at the moment, and when I saw her tribute on ITV News, it was very upsetting. I remember watching growing up. Carol Barnes 1944-2008.

Carol sounded very American in this.

One of Gordon´s greatest Quotes!

As far as I know it would have been used in 1986.
TonyDuMont (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
Was this different scoring used in other series?
krypton87 (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
Also note how the scoring was different in Observation in 1987 - instead of the usual 10, 6, 4 and 2 points for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place respectively it was just simply 2 points per difference spotted.

Gordon's comment was a crowning touch; "Was my hair really that long? Seems hard to believe!"
