Abuse and mistreatment is widespread. Have you ever seen pictures of the feed lots these animals are kept on? Growth hormones have been linked to various forms of cancer, birth defects, and thyroid disorders.Domestic cattle, Bos Taurus, do not exist in the wild. In fact, if left without human attendance - even the most minimal - they will die. The various forms of wild oxen and buffalo are not cattle. They're only close relations like the simians are to us.

this whole thing is bogus. you can't even compare the efficiency of corn fed beef than these "angus" grass fed calves. Just because a few people treat some down DAIRY cows badly doesn't mean that the beef industry is bad. As for this hormone issue, there is nothing wrong with a growth supplement that keeps them healthy and strong enough to maintain a well fed life. Grass fed calves aren't necessarily calmer either because how often do they come in contact with humans? Right before slaughter.

I agree, the info on grass fed beef and its benefits are true, but the other video may be there for shock value.

As someone who finally took the plunge and bought a wholesale lot of grass fed beef from a local farm, I can say that it is delicious and superior to the hormone/cornfed beef from the feed lots. I'm so glad I have a freezer full of it. Yes, it costs more, but buying the wholesale lot made it $4.75 a pound so that's tolerable. Plus I've got a huge prime rib waiting for the holidays.

Those arn`t Angus.... Maybe half Angus, they must have some hereford in them. Also the aninmals getting pushed around are dairy cattle NOT BEEF! Fox needs to do more studying before they air something.

As long as the grass beef cost more people will want the cattle that are bulked up. This doc should think of a way that doesn't cost more for Americans.

Grass fed is great but surely it doesn't HAVE to cost twice regular...Nor does it take twice as long to finish. If it took twice as long to finish then grass fed steers would be being butchered at 28 to 36 months. It does take longer, but the inputs should be so much lower... |
