The reason they neutered the track is because the drivers asked them to. The drivers themselves were getting a little antsy having to consentrate on driving at 250mph at midnight.

What an amazing track layout. Too bad it was neutered with the rediculous tire chicane on the long straight. What a shame.

Nothing like a Porsche boxer engine. Look at the 917: magnesium and titanium engine parts in 1970 ! Many still havent caught up with their technology.
