I've got to admit that muay thai is very brutal and effective martial art, but the program ur refering to SOF was really critised of number of things Some of it was that they weren't objektive in they're "research" and personally they only testet one person in one MA, if ur gonna get a full perspective of an art they should have used more people from the same art and "calculated the average of all of them"that said i really respect muay thai fighters and think its one of the greatest art ;D

Muay Thai is a battle field art.. used to settle disputes between the old kings of Burma and Thailand. Ive seen that science of fighting on National Geo channel.. Muay Thai fighter delivered a standard knee with a force you expect to find in a 35mph car crash

muay thai is a lot more powerful then what you see on tvit was developed as a way to disarm and kill opponents during thailand's medieval period however there are a lot of restrictions on it nowadays but the real thing still exist in the northern part of thailand its just that those are not commercialize so when prople see all this MT vs TKD or Karate stuff they think that that's real muay thai while the real thing is actually more brutal

sure thats what my post said... not kidding, go look to a muay thai gym and see how hard they kick or look up the episode on fight science where they compared the power of the kicks from a bunch of different martial arts. i think its on youtube

dude I dont care about style, or form or all that shit, I use what works for me, what I think is effective, I think all those Katas and fighting imaginary opponents is bullshit, I'd been there, I'd done that.

Well I'll agree that there's a lot of 'blackbelt factories' out there these days. I wouldn't say that martial arts has been commercialized across the board though. And just to point something out, many Muay Thai from the region will kick the crap out of competitors from diff styles--That's because in their culture they compete from elementary school age in order to put food on their families tables. It's a little sad but it does produce some of the world's most talented fighters.

true true, martial arts today are no more than comercialized bullshit
